Smoothies are my addiction. I incorporate a smoothie into my menu most days. I find that I am more hydrated and more apt to eat fruits and veggies that I wouldn't otherwise work into my diet. The trick is to keep it healthy. The recipes are unlimited, but here is one of my favorites.

Not only is this recipe delicious, but it also offers multiple health properties. Pineapple is rich in vitamin C and aids in healthy digestion. Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and is known for its medicinal properties. The coconut water works at restoring hydration and electrolytes after a workout. Pineapple-Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of coconut water (add more, if needed)
1 cup of frozen unsweetened diced pineapple
1/2 peeled orange
1/2 of a frozen ripened banana (peeled)
2 Tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
1/2 inch slice of fresh ginger (peeled and chopped)
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. Serve immediately and enjoy!
